MUTRA, a farm-to-table Levantine restaurant located in North Miami, officially became the first strictly kosher restaurant ever to receive a Michelin Star, one of the highest honors in the culinary industry.
The restaurant is led by Executive Chef Raz Shabtai, who combines traditional Middle Eastern and family-inspired recipes with a modern fine dining experience. The name “MUTRA,” meaning “rain of blessings,” was inspired by Shabtai’s grandmother and reflects the warm and welcoming atmosphere behind the restaurant.
MUTRA has quickly become known for its rotating seasonal menu, fresh local ingredients, and unique dishes that blend comfort food with upscale presentation. Some fan favorites include their famous house-made bread served with 12 rotating dips, oxtail musakhan, Sicilian eggplant, and rich Tunisian-inspired dishes.
Beyond the food, many guests describe the restaurant as combining luxury dining with the feeling of sitting in a bubby’s living room.
The Michelin recognition is a massive moment not only for MUTRA, but for kosher cuisine as a whole, proving that strictly kosher restaurants can compete on the highest level of the global food scene.
The restaurant is located at 2188 NE 123rd St in North Miami and reservations have become extremely difficult to get since the announcement.
