Organized streets, shops or warehouses, ovens, and industrial installations bear witness to a significant commercial and artisanal center, strategically located along the axis connecting Jaffa, Ramla, and Jerusalem. The archaeologists have also uncovered pottery, oil lamps, bronze objects, iron tools, and dozens of coins. The site would have been occupied for nearly 150 years, then again in the 10th century before its final abandonment.
