Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has unveiled a construction site for a new facility intended to carry out executions of terrorists sentenced to death. According to reports, the facility will include a special death-row wing with gallows at its center. Plans also reportedly include designated viewing areas that would allow victims and bereaved family members to witness executions. Ben-Gvir said allowing victims’ families to observe executions is a practice used in other countries, including the United States. The move comes amid Israel’s push for harsher penalties against terrorists convicted of deadly attacks and has already sparked significant debate both inside Israel and internationally. The facility represents a major change in Israel’s approach to capital punishment, which has historically been used only in extremely rare circumstances.

A Remarkable Archaeological Discovery in Ramat Gan Excavations conducted by the Israel Antiquities Authority near the Winter Stadium have unearthed a complex approximately 1,300 years old, dating back to the Umayyad and Abbasid periods. Organized streets, shops or warehouses, ovens, and industrial installations bear witness to a significant commercial and artisanal center, strategically located along the axis connecting Jaffa, Ramla, and Jerusalem. The archaeologists have also uncovered pottery, oil lamps, bronze objects, iron tools, and dozens of coins. The site would have been occupied for nearly 150 years, then again in the 10th century before its final abandonment.
