LETTER:Lakewood Potholes Damaging Vehicles

To NUNU I wanted to commend the township for the work done during the recent snowstorm. The response and handling of the storm were appreciated. However, I would like to bring attention to a serious concern regarding road conditions. Driving throughout town has become extremely difficult due to the large number of potholes. Many roads are heavily damaged, and this is causing vehicles to sustain damage, including tire issues. We have also contacted the township directly and were informed that they are aware of the issue. However, awareness alone has not resolved the problem, as conditions continue to worsen and no significant repairs are visible. I have not seen noticeable repair efforts, and it seems the current resources may not be sufficient to address the problem. I respectfully suggest increasing the crews dedicated to pothole repair to better handle the widespread damage. Additionally, if this issue falls under county or state responsibility, I urge the township to coordinate with Ocean County and the New Jersey Department of Transportation to ensure these roads are addressed promptly. The current conditions are affecting daily travel and vehicle safety, and a more urgent, coordinated response is needed. Maybe we should have more people call the township! Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely, BR Lakewood

LETTER FROM A FATHER WHOSE SON IS FIGHTING IN LEBANON WITH THE IDF

Incredible!!! I’d like to share a bit of inspiration I had. Today we received a message from one of my son’s commanders that the soldiers in their unit will have a short break tomorrow morning and will be available by phone for a few hours. We are so excited this will be the first time we can speak with him in over a week since he has been fighting in Lebanon. We plan to wake up in the middle of the night here in New Jersey so we can catch him while he’s available. I’ve been a father for 23 years, and I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited to speak with one of my children. It made me think: on a small scale, this must be what our loving Father, Hashem, feels as He anticipates our prayers. May they all be answered. Thank you, and Shabbat Shalom!
